Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to the SimpleTax iPhone and iPad app and to the website at simpletax.wespritz.com. SimpleTax is provided by Frederick Reverdin. The app and the website are separate experiences and are described separately below.
The SimpleTax app
SimpleTax is an on-device Tax calculator. The app does not require an account and has no backend, telemetry, or synchronization service. The calculations you enter are not sent to us by the app.
To make the app resume where you left off, it stores the following locally on your device:
- your latest calculation and the selected calculation mode;
- your selected currency;
- your appearance and theme preferences;
- your currency-rounding preference; and
- your haptic-feedback preference.
Temporary interface state, such as the field currently in focus, is not persisted. We do not receive this locally stored information.
Website analytics
The website uses Vercel Web Analytics to understand visits and improve the site. This applies to the website only, not to the SimpleTax app.
Vercel describes Web Analytics as using anonymous, aggregated data and not using cookies. Depending on the page visit, the service may process information such as the page URL, referrer, timestamp, approximate location, device type, operating system, and browser version. Vercel says that this data is not intended to identify visitors across websites or applications and that the visitor hash is discarded after 24 hours.

External links
The website links to the Apple App Store and to Vercel's documentation. Those services are operated by third parties and have their own privacy policies. If you contact us by email, we receive the information you choose to include in your message so that we can reply.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy when the app, website, or the services used by either one change. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new revision date.
